November 19, 2005 by Kevin Caruso A 6.5-magnitude earthquake hit off the coast of Sumatra at 9:00 a.m. local time on November 19, 2005. The epicenter was off Simeule island, about 160 miles southwest of the city of Medan, Sumatra. No tsunami was caused by the quake, and there were no reports of injuries or property damage.

A 6.5-magnitude earthquake hit off the coast of Sumatra at 9:00 a.m. local time on November 19, 2005.
The epicenter was off Simeule island, about 160 miles southwest of the city of Medan, Sumatra.
No tsunami was caused by the quake, and there were no reports of injuries or property damage.
